Legislative Policy
• State-Level Initiatives:
o Tax Assessor: Reset the lien date and reassess home values.
o Exemption for 20-25% of insurance policy value for debris removal.
o Lift statewide ban on redevelopment districts (no County approval needed). o Fund to limit price gouging, disaster recovery district (EIFD).
o State Bank assistance, state land brush clearance.
o Trust fund for materials stock, bring insurance companies to the table.
• Federal Initiatives:
o Funding for ongoing disaster recovery.
o Land trust, Omnibus Bill Package (Sherman). o Executive order to cap commodity prices.
• City-Level Initiatives:
o Climate resilience district (extend to County).
o Evacuation route impact study for densification permitting. o Swift public space construction via right of entry carve-out.
